Missile Container Desiccation
We have decades of experience in the field of missile container desiccation. It is vital to ensure that you are using the correct desiccant, humidity indicator combination for your missile container, along with a double differential valve they can meet the ascent/descent rate and any rapid decompression requirements your missile container may have.
It is also very common to use a desiccant port to access the desiccant bags within the missile container and have a record holder that will contain the relevant documents for that missile.
It is very important when deciding on the correct desiccation method to consider the type of missile you are looking to protect and the full environmental conditions it will be exposed to. There are also options with using desiccant bags, polyethylene tubes of desiccant, moulded desiccant packs or even panel mounted removable desiccant systems.
The most common desiccation systems are desiccant bags, these are usually silica gel desiccant or activated clay desiccant and in some special cases molecular sieve desiccant bags are used.
When it comes to long term storage of Missiles, it is very important to remember that if you can ensure a very dry Storage Container, it will mean a much lower vapour differential within your container to missile seeker, thus increasing the desiccant life within your Seeker/Missile Assembly.
