Protecting Transformer oil reservoirs and conservator tanks from moisture is common practice in the power generation industry and transformers breather and regenerative breathers are used for their protection. Special desiccators and desiccant bags are also used in circuit breakers and high voltage electrical switchgear protection to prevent electrical failure and arcing. Electrical cabinets and sub-station outbuilding often used desiccant bags and container desiccants for moisture protection.
