Radar Antenna & Waveguide Desiccation
The importance of Radar Antenna and Waveguide in today’s world cannot be underestimated, whether it is Airport Surveillance Radar (ASR) for air traffic control, Radar Astronomy, Radar Marine Electronics or any other Radar Tracking Technology, we have the desiccation solution for you.
Some of the constraints with Radar & Antenna desiccation can be that they have large internal volumes to keep dry but can also be very narrow causing an issue with trying to insert a standard panel mounted desiccator. In many instances externally mounted Breather Desiccators can be used which can house much larger volumes of desiccant that are required to protect the bigger volumes.
Breathing style desiccators are also often used as they prevent the equipment from pressure and vacuum as they allow the system to equalise pressure constantly. These units can have humidity indicator plugs with solar weather shields fitted to advise when the desiccant requires changing.
Smaller ground radar or naval radar systems can use static desiccator that are mounted through a panel.
We also have a unique Dry Gas Purging System which can be used to remove all the inbuilt moisture within your equipment prior to fitting any desiccation device. It also can be used in determining the MVTR in you Radar or Antenna system, this can be done in house or at our customer’s premises depending on the size of the unit to be tested.
