EV Battery Enclosure & Lithium Battery Venting Protection
The growth of hybrid and electric vehicles with lithium-ion batteries has increased extensively over the past several years.
During the normal operation of a battery, gases are produced which if they are not vented into the atmosphere can rupture the cell case. In extreme cases without this venting, they can become a major fire hazard or even explosive. Pressure differentials can build up are caused by normal vehicle operation due to ambient temperature changes, the heat generation within the cells and atmospheric changes.
The use of Automatic Vents and Automatic Breather Valves can be used to allow this venting, equalise the internal & external pressures and prevent contaminants, such as dust, debris and moisture, from entering the enclosure.
