Thermal Imagers & IR Camera Desiccation
The presence of moisture in Commercial or Military Thermal Imagers and IR camera systems can cause major issues to the performance and integrity of the units. A vital piece of equipment in today’s world that needs to be protected from the effects of climate change and environmental conditions.
We offer a range of desiccation devices to suit all types of systems. Standard desiccators may not be the best solution for these sensitive instruments. Due to the high optical clarity that is required for these imaging devices, we can provide an ultra clean desiccant bag or ultra clean desiccator to meet these high specified optical requirements.
For Thermal Imaging and IR Cameras it is important to note that in most instances these items should be using molecular sieve desiccant and not silica gel desiccant. Molecular Sieve desiccant maintains a lower dewpoint within the equipment thus preventing any condensation from forming on the lenses or internal electronics. Lower humidity indicator discs/cards should be used with this molecular sieve desiccant to ensure the colour change occurs at the correct level of saturation.
We also have a unique Dry Gas Purging System which can be used to remove all the inbuilt moisture within your equipment prior to fitting any desiccation device. This allows for an extended life expectancy of your desiccator, therefore reduces maintenance and costs.
In order to determine the life expectancy of any desiccation device within your equipment and/or the amount of desiccant you will need to protect the item during its service life. Our Dry Gas Testing Equipment can use our exclusive MVTR Evaluation & Purging System, to determining the MVTR into your Thermal Imaging Camera, which can be done in house or at our customer’s premises depending on the size of the unit.
