Hostile artillery fire usually originates from a location that cannot be seen from the friendly forces’ frontline. There is therefore a need for easily deployable technology that can accurately locate enemy artillery.
Designed to accurately sense and report the direction of incoming enemy fire, the AWLS gives the vehicle’s crew the critical situational awareness to react to the threat.
Detecting gun breaks and impacts from artillery, mortars, tanks and heavy cannons; and explosions of mines, bombs and improvised explosive devices, these devices are deployed in all environmental areas and are subjected to the full extent of the elements.
Arcadia produce a range of products that will help protect these innovative sensing systems. Immersible vents are commonly used to allow the constant pressure equalisation but prevent water, dust and debris from entering the device. Desiccant bags are also used inside the equipment to maintain humidity and dewpoint levels to prevent condensation.
