Arcadia Desiccant TA486 Desiccant Basket
Tool-Free Access to Desiccant in Storage and Shipping Containers
The TA486 Desiccant Basket by Arcadia Desiccant is specifically engineered to hold MIL-D-3464 bagged desiccant for use in sealed shipping and storage containers. Available in a range of sizes, each basket can accommodate up to 48 desiccant units, offering flexible moisture control for diverse applications.
The TA486 allows for quick and convenient desiccant replacement without opening the entire container—simply rotate the cover a 1/4 turn to access the interior. Installation is through a 4.015″ (102 mm) diameter hole in the container wall.
Each unit is supplied with a spanner nut, washer, and retained gasket for secure and reliable mounting. Holes in the cover and flange are provided to accommodate safety wire or an inspector’s seal for tamper-evident protection.
Valve Integration Options
The cover can be configured with various hole sizes for mounting breather valves:

1.050″ (26 mm) hole for use with TA238, TA240-R, TA330, TA333-R, or TA340-R Two-Way Breather Valves

1.265″ (32 mm) hole for a TA440-R Breather Valve

The TA486 is suitable for use on NEMA 1, 2, 3, 3R, 3S, 4, 5, 6, 12, 12K, and 13 enclosures, as well as IP66/IP67 rated environments. It may also be compatible with additional NEMA or IP-rated enclosures depending on your specific use case.
A version of the TA486 that complies with SAE AS5135 is also available.

Note: Desiccant is sold separately. For suitable options, select your desired desiccant material and look for 4-unit or 8-unit bags.
