Description
Arcadia Desiccant TA796 High-Flow Pressure Relief Valve
Robust, Reusable Valve for Rapid or Explosive Decompression Events
The TA796 from Arcadia Desiccant is a 4-inch diameter high-flow pressure relief valve engineered to deliver maximum airflow capacity in its class. Unlike traditional spring-actuated valves, the TA796 uses rare earth magnets to achieve fast and full opening once the cracking pressure is reached. This allows the valve to respond immediately and reliably during critical decompression scenarios.
Application Overview
The TA796 is ideal for applications requiring rapid venting of internal pressure, such as:
-
Explosive decompression events, including aircraft fuselage breaches
-
Rapid pressure equalization in sealed enclosures
-
Scenarios where conventional blow-out membranes may fail or require replacement
Unlike blow-out membranes, which can be damaged by impact or rendered inoperable after a single use, the TA796 is designed for durability and reusability. Its sturdy aluminum construction withstands rough handling, and the valve reseals automatically after relieving pressure—offering virtually unlimited reuse.
Performance and Operation
-
Available cracking pressures: 0.1 to 1.5 psid
-
Reseal pressure is not user-selectable due to high flow; in most applications, the valve will fully equalize internal and external pressure before closing
-
Performance graph includes dashed lines for cracking variations and dotted lines to illustrate performance comparison with spring-actuated valves of the same size
