There are a wide range of dry gas purging devices that are specifically designed to remove moisture from sensitive electronic and optical equipment’s. Most use either dry air or dry nitrogen gas to flow through the equipment removing the moisture within the free air volume and with added pressure create a vapour pressure differential which will draw out the inbuilt hygroscopic moisture contained therein. The dry gas that is expelled during this pressure cycling will often pass over a dewpoint sensor in order to advise the user when the desired dryness has been reached.
These dewpoint sensors typically use an aluminium oxide technology, that senses the moisture levels within the exhaling gases, will drift out of calibration over time (Typically 12 months) and therefore needs to be replaced or recalibrated to ensure the continuous accurate function of the purging equipment.
Arcadia offers either a replacement exchange service for dewpoint sensors, we will send you a new sensor with a calibration certificate and when you receive it, you then send us the old sensor that is out of calibration back to us. This allows you to hold onto your purging system and continue to use it without any delays to your production line or laboratory testing.
An additional service that can be provided is a general overhaul and repair of the complete dry gas purging equipment. The whole unit would need to be returned for a full functional assessment and maintenance check. This would involve replacing saturated desiccant with a fresh desiccant charge, new filters, pressure sensor adjustments and well as full calibration against our in-house chilled mirror.
